Foster Homes Needed

**Arrangements have been made for Charlie, however please contact the MSCA Rescue chair Allison Ribaux, to become a foster for a future Maremma or LGD today. Fosters are needed across North America. A foster home is a temporary home where the dog can live until a permanent home is found. Thank you!

Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Charlie is a 1.5-year-old neutered Maremma. He has been an indoor dog/pet up until this point. However, his elderly owners recognize that he needs a job, more space, and exercise to succeed.

Charlie gets along well with other dogs he encounters on walks and enjoys meeting new people as well. He has not had any structured training or boundaries set for him - and he has a tendency to resource guard certain items in the house.
Charlie is a nice adolescent dog who needs owners familiar with the breed who will give him a job/livestock to protect. He would do best in a household without young children, although he has always been good with them in the past.
Due to his resource guarding, Charlie needs a foster or adoptive home as soon as possible - as his owners are elderly and do not feel comfortable having him around guests in the house over the holidays.
If you live in Quebec or the Tri-State area and would consider helping Charlie become the dog we think he could be, please get in touch with Allison Ribaux at rescue@maremmaclub.com.

MSCA Rescue Committee, Allison Ribaux Chair

As the guardians of the Maremma Sheepdog, the MSCA is prepared to rescue any purebred Maremma without a home.

If you have one or more Maremmas that you cannot keep for reasons such as illness, family changes, or financial changes, please contact the Club's Rescue Committee instead of turning the dog(s) in to a shelter. The MSCA Rescue Committee will act quickly to find a new suitable home for your dog(s), regardless of age.

The purposes of the Rescue Committee is to provide for the rescue of Maremma Sheepdogs in all areas of North America and to provide rescue liaison with other clubs and organizations when purebred Maremma Sheepdogs come into their Rescue.

The MSCA Rescue Committee is looking, members, and volunteers all across North America who would like to be involved in rescuing Maremmas in need.

The MSCA assumes no liability for rescue operations, except as required by law. Those who perform rescue services for the MSCA do so at their own risk.

The Rescue Committee Chair will provide a rescue report to the Board at each meeting, publish articles and information on rescue in club publications, coordinate policies, and exchange information with committee members and the club.
